Good to know
Combining milk from different sessions
Chill freshly pumped milk in the fridge for 30–60 minutes before adding it to cold milk. The clock runs from the oldest milk.
Signs milk has gone bad
A sour or rancid smell or a chunky texture after swirling. Separated layers are normal. A soapy smell can be high lipase, which is safe.
Premature or ill babies
These timelines are for healthy, full-term babies. Ask your pediatrician or IBCLC about stricter limits.
